Trip to Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum & Memorial Park, Accra Ghana

Our Last Trip in Ghana - A tour of some parts of Accra

On Sunday, October 21, 2012, we went to the Kwame Nkrumah Museum and Memorial Park in Accra, Ghana to see the tomb of Dr Kwame Nkrumah. We used the motorway from Tema to Accra.

On the way I saw many exciting things. We passed the Accra Airport and we came to a place called Osu and I was surprised to see KFC. I didn't know there was KFC in Ghana. We came to a place called James Town. This is the place where the British settled when they first came to Ghana. There were so many old buildings in James Town. I even saw a red and white Lighthouse built by the British in an old shipping Harbor.
    We then went to Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park. When we got there I saw a big statue of Kwame Nkrumah. Also I saw his tomb and his wife's tomb.
     Kwame Nkrumah was the first president of Ghana. He was born in 1909 and died in 1972. He was the one who led the Ghanaians to fight the British for Ghana's independence.

Trip to Prampram Beach in Ghana

On Thursday October 18, 2012, we went to Prampram Beach in the south eastern part of Ghana to look at canoes and there we saw some men building canoes. I saw some canoes in the sea. Some of them were fishing, some were parked in the sea. After I took one more picture and then we left the beach and grandpa took us to the Prampram beach Resort. But there we didn’t do anything, I only drank Fanta. Then my mom talked to grandpa, they both talked so much. They even talked for a matter of hours. Then they finally finished talking. We paid and then we left to go back to Tema. Ghana is boarded at the south by a sea which is the Atlantic Ocean.
